"Baron II Runs in the 8's @ 167 mph"

Special Anouncement

With the new Schneider Cam & Mr. Gasket products installed Ken expects even better performance from the car that has already ran quicker and faster than anyone else running a old school AA/GS car today. The new graphics on the nose and doors sure are "bitchin" too !!!!!!!!!!!

On the way to the Quickest and Fastest Run yet recorded by a "True Nostalgia AA/GS" at Atco Dragway May 2004

Of the Line at The National Hot Rod Reunion 2003

Ken Kull is a student of the mid 60's era AA/gas Supercharged cars that did battle around the country during the 1960's and set out to build his own period correct 1933 Willys Pick-up to do battle in the nostalgia events that are becoming so popular today. He did not want one of the "winged' modern day cars that some call nostalgia, but a real 60's gasser with nothing updated but the necessary safety items. What he ended up with is not only one of the most beautiful cars around but also the fastest and quickest of the "real" gassers that are competing today. Ken is always looking for more chances to take this little beauty down the 1/4 mile so if you are interested in booking him and the "Baron" for your event contact him at redbaronracing@juno.com

Ken started out with a 36’ Willys pick-up frame that he fully boxed and strengthened. Doing the work in his own shop and with his own hands, he added a Don Long, 2” dropped, dragster style front axle with the traditional mono-leaf “buggy spring” for suspension. Out back he installed a 1958 Pontiac rear housing suspended with Corvair coil springs and fabricated his own ladder and wheelie bars.

Ken did all the work getting the steel cab ready to mount on the chassis

No modern coil overs and adjustments here, just good old 60's technology. Ken is one
of the few that know the true meaning of the word "nostalgia"

Although Ken has earned the nickname "Wild Man" for his driving abilities, he is also
an excellent fabricator and engine builder

Just about ready for paint

After everything was fitted and refitted to Ken's satisfaction, he took the truck to John Foust, a name you are sure to hear a lot more, at John’s Pro-Street & Custom who finished off the bodywork and laid down the beautiful 63’ General Motors Red paint. It was then finished off with the real “gold leaf” lettering that was used in the 60’s

Ken assembled the “killer” stock bore & stroke 426 cast iron “elephant" that pushes the little truck down the track. He added a set of ported cast iron heads and topped them off with a 6-71 blower and a Gene Adams prepped Hilborn 4 port injector set-up. He then went to no other than “Big Daddy” Don Garlits where he purchased the unique chilled iron flat tappet cam that was designed for Dons first 250 mph dragster. He then added a Vertex magneto to give it the needed fire and exhausted the ear-splitting sound through a set of individual pipe headers of his own design. The 1000 plus horsepower beast was then mated to a B&M powerglide and converter and all was lowered in the “Baron” which had been fitted with Radir wheels and 12” M&H Racemaster slicks.
