The Restoration of the Doss, Clayton & King AA/FD

Part 1

Wayne King aka 'The Peregrine"

In doing the research for the articles on this website, I have been fortunate enough to get to know and talk with many of the great people that were a part of drag racing during it's formative years and Wayne King is one of them that I am really glad to have gotten to know. Wayne has driven and been involved with many dragsters and is a wealth of information. He has helped me in many ways and has put me in touch with others that have shared there knowledge with me as well. I truly enjoy talking with him and hope we meet face to face at some point, "Thank You", Wayne

Wayne is writing a book that should be published soon titled "The Boys of Bakersfield - Drag Racers". Watch for this one to be available as it will be filled with great history and stories about drag racing during the early years.

A very rare Donovan welded clutch can like the original car.
Bill Turney and Tom Hanna made this one possible

Jim Ward welds up a new set of weedburner headers to match the originals

New weedburners just like the originals are ready to go.

The "Greek" coupler connects the engine to the 49' Olds rear. Also notice
the hydraulic throttle linkage another rare item (Thanks to Tom Wilford)
and the C-T Automotive pedal.
