The Photos of William Holmes Most of the pictures are from Atco (NASCAR Ultra Stock shows), NY National Speedway (1968 Super Stock Nationals), Cecil County (CARS Magazine Meet) and York (NHRA Points Meet). I
would like to "Thank" Mr. Holmes for allowing NitroGeezers.Com to be
the home for his photos For those that are not familiar with the circuit, it was basically broken into two categories:
The Ultrastocks ran at National Events and as separate shows. The cars would run against each other for class, and then there would be a King-of-the-Hill type eliminator for the class winners and runner-ups/low qualifiers Information courtesy of William Holmes
Bob Banning Dodge Charger - Atco - 1968 NASCAR Ultra Stock Meet - Gas F/C Bob Banning sponsored some of the most beautiful cars of the era. During 1968, in addition to the Charger F/C, they also campaigned 2 1967 Dodge Coronets in the U/S category under the Tidewater Dodge banner (one red & white, the other blue & white). The team drivers were Tom Sneden and Dave Reitz. They also campaigned a 1968 Hemi Dart in Unlimited S/S at the Super Stock Nationals in NY (the very first "unofficial" Pro Stock race). In the 70's, they campaigned nitro F/C's and were a mainstay in the NHRA Eastern Conference and Division 1. Comments by William Holmes
