Dante Duce
On February 15, 2008 drag racing lost yet another of its
pioneers, Dante Duce the man
that was instrumental in organizing the first Drag Fest in England in 1964 when
he and
a number of the top racers of the day including, Tommy Ivo, Don Garlits, K.S.
Pittman,
Sox and Martin traveled to England to introduce drag racing to the British
people. Duce
was friends with Dean Moon and took his "Mooneyes" dragster s his ride in the
show.

Pat Foster 1940-2008
Pat Foster wore many hats in the world of drag racing and
motorsports as a whole.
He was a builder, a designer and driver among others and excelled at all
he chose
to do. I only got to know Pat in 2002 but had spoken with him many times in the
past
few years both on the phone and e-mail as well as a different reunions around
the
country. I won't claim to having been friends with him, but knew him well enough
to
Have a great respect for him, not only as a drag racer but as a man as well. He
and I
Had been working together for quite a while to put together his history for this
website
and I will finish it up as soon as possible as I have hours of tape and dozens
of e-mails
discussing his past. There are also several features on the cars he restored and
recreated over the last several years here as well so take a look at some true
craftsmanship
when you have some time.

Larry Bouldin
Larry was instrumental in the founding of the AHRA back in the
mid-fifties and was
The "Official" photographer for them for many years taking some great historic
shots
as he traveled around the country with his friend Don Elliott. One of his best
known
photos that he called "Five Fabulous Fuelers" received a lot of attention,
however he
never received proper credit for it. Although most of his negatives were
destroyed a
number of years ago, he was kind enough to share a number of his early shots
with

Larry "Max" Maxwell
One of drag racing's premiere photographers, whose series of L & M images
will
live on, passed away July 19 at the age of 71. "Max", who photographer Les
Lovett
had called the "Best Photographer in Drag Racing" succumb to complications
of a stroke. "God Speed" Max
Bill Hill
One of the original "Hill Bros" of AA/GS fame from the late sixties.
Bill, who tuned
and his brother Pete, who drove campaigned the bright red 33' Willys coupe they
called the "Red Baron" to wins over the best in
the AA/GS ranks. The car now belongs
to Ken Kull, who restored it back to its original form

Steve Carbone
One of Top Fuels top drivers, Steve
drove a number of the best cars in the field
including the "Creitz & Donovan" car which has been recreated by Bob Creitz and
