the "John Weibe" T/F Nostalgia car of Don Love and Lyn Bruch of HOTROD A RAMA AT TACOMA'S SWISS TAVERN A NON-BILLET AFFAIR by Russ Griffith The Mischief Makers Car Club of Tacoma tend to the more basic side of HotRodding, as shown by their NO BILLET edict for their HotRod A Rama get-together at Tacoma's downtown Swiss Tavern. In fact, someone and their up-dated ride were thrown out of the show because of the hand-crafted wheels that his rubber rode on! Many of the primered rods reminded me of my first Deuces (in the '50's),ragged fenders (if any), red wheels and white-walls (clip-ons),flatheads and more primer. Great variety, many one-of-a-kind rods, odd rods, Herm Pedersen, Wayne King and Jim Green on hand to burn up some nitro, thanks to Tommy Willford. The 1979 NHRA Top Fuel Champion, Rob Bruins, was in attendance to cackle the Green & Crooke "Assassin".
